It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Linda Agnes Mott, 62, loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and former resident of Scotch Lake, on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at her residence in Avonport, N.S.
Born in Scotch Lake, Linda was the daughter of the late John and Mary (McBride) Stamper.
She was employed with Access Nova Scotia until her retirement. She loved spending time at home with her family and the outdoors and especially loved being with her grandchildren. She always had a shoulder for you to lean on and always had time to listen. Linda was a wonderful source of strength for friends and family. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Bras d’Or.
Linda is survived by her two children, her son, with whom she resided, Jeremy Mott and daughter-in-law, Mary, Avonport, N.S.; her daughter, Cynthia Ann Mott, Edmonton; her two grandchildren, Alexander Richard and Isabel Ashley; her brother, Blair; sisters, Anna O’Neil, Catherine Jessome, Johnena MacDonald, Cecilia Bishop, Noel Stamper, Theresa Campbell and Marlene Kennedy; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her companion, Michael Landrigan, three sisters, Jean MacIntyre, Sally Currie and Angela Stamper and three brothers, Alec, Jimmy and Johnny Stamper.
There will be no visitation. A funeral mass for Linda will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church in Bras d’Or, with Rev. Peter McLeod officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bras d’Or.
Memorial donations may be made to the VON, Annapolis Valley.
