FRIEDA TREPTAU

Passed in: Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada
Passed on: September 19th, 2012

Frieda peacefully passed away on September 19, 2012, at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home, where she received compassion, gentleness, respect, and love during her final days.

Frieda was born on December 03, 1919 in Neu Rosenthal, Sensburg, East Prussia. Prior to World War II, Frieda was a Red Cross Nurse, which led to compulsory service as a nurse during the war. During this time, Frieda met and married Herbert Treptau and following the war they emigrated to Canada and the Vancouver area. Frieda spent her entire professional career in the medical field, mostly as a dedicated and highly regarded x-ray technician. Frieda proudly became a Canadian citizen in 1960. Frieda and Herb retired near 100 Mile House and eventually in Kamloops. Frieda was among the very first residents to open the doors at Berwick on the Park where she became loved for her sense of humor, quiet gentle manner, and her amazing talent for growing plants and flowers.

Frieda was pre-deceased by her husband Herb in 1990.

Left to cherish her memory are her "adopted daughter"/friend Joanne Lifford (and family), friends Arlene Higgins (Vernon), Nick and Judy Schreurs (Williams Lake), Mar Taylor (Port Coquitlam), and numerous friends from Berwick and throughout her life time. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Paul Farrell and staff for your many years of care, the staff and volunteers of Berwick and all the angels at Hospice.

No formal service by request.

A Celebration Tea will take place on October 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Berwick on the Park.

In lieu of flowers, Frieda would have appreciated donations to Kamloops Hospice or the Kamloops SPCA.
