Suddenly at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, the death occurred of Beryl “Elizabeth” Leyte, age 68 years.
Born in Charlottetown, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Florence (MacAulay) MacKenzie. Beloved wife of Reg Leyte. Loving mother of Joey (Nancy) Affleck, Melanie (Tom) Heckbert, T.J. (Lisa) Leyte and Cheryl (Glen) MacLeod. Grandmother of Mackenzie, Matthew, Amanda, Kyle, Leonard, Andrew, Amry; three great-grandchildren; and sister of Jean (Charlie) Rogers and Hazel (Howard) Davies. She is also survived by her numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and many special friends. Aside from her parents, she is predeceased by her brother John MacKenzie and sister Helen Joyce MacKenzie.
Resting at Ferguson-Logan Montague Funeral Home with visiting hours on Thursday, September 27, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Belfast, on Friday, September 28, 2012, at 2 p.m. Interment to take place following the service in St. John’s Cemetery.
Memorials to the St. John’s Presbyterian Church Building Fund, Canadian Cancer Society and P.E.I. Heart and Stroke would be appreciated by her family.
