Michael Gerard Arsenault, 61, of Pictou, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2012, in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, with family by his side.
Mike was born on May 5th, 1951, in Pictou.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Diane (Bissonnette); daughter, Melanie Lau (Jack), of Oakville; grandchild, Kaitlyn; sisters, Ann (Graham), of St. Lambert; Nancy (Brian), of Burlington; Marybeth (Paul), of Oakville; nieces, Alyssa, Rebecca, and Emma; nephews, Kevin and Sam.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Joan Arsenault; nephew, Adam Taylor; aunt, Marjorie (Eb) Bijeau.
Mike worked in sales for 20 years and at Michelin Tires for the last 24 years. Throughout his life Mike was an avid golfer, boater, animal lover, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Mike will be dearly missed by his loving wife, family and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the McLaren Funeral Home Pictou. Funeral will take place 2 p.m. Friday in Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Pictou, with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. A reception will follow the Stella Maris Parish Hall. Burial will be in Seaview Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in his memory may be made to The Lodge That Gives, The Canadian Cancer Society - Nova Scotia Division, or to the Palliative Care Unit, Aberdeen Hospital.
