It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rita (Alexander) Blanchard announce her passing at her residence in St. George’s on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the age of 100 years. She will be sadly missed by her two daughters: Margaret Downey of St. George’s, Loretta McGee of Coxheath, Nova Scotia, one brother, Sam Alexander of Cormack, 8 grandchildren: Michele, Tom, Craig, Tony, Shaun, Tony, Lisa, Terry, 6 great-grandchildren: Justin, Jared, Jordan, Keeley, Oliver, Isaac and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband John Blanchard and 3 sons, her sisters, brothers and her parents, Henry and Margaret Alexander. Friends may call at St. Joseph’s Parish in St. George’s on Friday, September 28th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, September 29th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Parish in St. George’s with Interment in the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville.
