Gerald Charles Davis was dearly loved by his wife and his children, who were at his bedside when he peacefully passed away on March 28, 2012 at his Mesa, Arizona home.
He was born in Hamilton, Ont., August 2, 1926 to the late Charles and Gertrude (Devlin) Davis.
In his youth, he was an Alter boy. Later, he served in the Canadian Navy during the Second World War. Aircraft and flying were his deepest passions. His aircraft career started at the Hamilton Air Club and years later he retired from Boeing as a tool maker liaison engineer. He also flew and maintained his Cesna 182 for 38 years.
He had a passion for Ray Bradbury and Isaac Asimov novels, loved the Sunday funnies, and enjoyed the Indy 500.
Gerald was a man of strong convictions, who had a wonderful sense of humour. He cherished his cats Peanut and Mr. Thomas. He was devoted to his wife, Marjory (Strachan) Davis and his children, Anna Marie (Rick) Raimondi, Hanapea, HI, Arlene (Gary) Sorley, Holstein, Ont. and Gerald (Linda) Davis, Wineona, Ont. Also, surviving Gerald are his loving and caring grandchildren, Jesse Vereeken, Lana Vereeken, Jotham (Jackie) Sterling, Mark (Erin) Sterling, Tina ( Steve Fordham) Sterling, Julia Davis, Jason Davis; great-grandchildren, Anna Bell, Sydney, Eryk, Rhys, Duncan and Alice.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Framboise on Oct. 7, 2012 at 3 p.m., Rev. Dr. Murdock MacRae officiating. Following interment, tea will be served at the family home of Jeanette and Edie Strachan.
