The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, P.E.I., on Sunday, April 6, 2008, of Omer Doucette of Wheatley River, P.E.I., aged 73. Omer was the beloved husband of Marina (nee Peters); loving father of Michael (Cheryl), Kingston, and Philip (Terri) of Wheatley River; and the devoted poppy of Kelsey Dawn and Kyle Anthony. He is survived by his sisters, Margaret (Pete) LeClair at Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home and Evelyn Peters of North Rustico; his sister-in-law, Kay Doucette; brothers-in-law, Arthur Peters, Louis (Doris) Peters, Douglas (Bev) Peters and Lorne Costello; and numerous nieces and nephews. Omer was predeceased by his parents, Wilfred J. and Hilda (Gallant) Doucette; his brothers, Roland and Roy; his sister, Helen (Athol) Cox; his brother-in-law, Vernon Peters; and sisters-in-law Ethel (Angus) Jarvis and Bernice Costello. Resting at the Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, P.E.I., for visitation on Monday, April 7, 2008, from 6:30-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, North Rustico, P.E.I., on Tuesday, April 8 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery.
