Shirley Duffy

DUFFY, SHIRLEY - With great sadness the family of Shirley May Duffy wish to share her passing after a long period of declining health. On October, 3rd at the Saint John Regional Hospital Shirley joined her Lord and Saviour. Born in Johnston Parish on September 10,1931 to the late Annie (Cole Elliott) Gilbert and Fred Elliott. She lived most of her life in Chipman until an accident caused her to move to Saint John with her daughter. She endured many operations but lived by this passage (I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me). She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and charity to all. Her life centered around what she could do for others. She leaves behind her loving daughter Carol Ann (Stephen) Davis, grandchildren Jessica and Stephanie, her sister Viola Kabbel, nephew Brian Elliott, a dear cousin Berne Boyd and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Michael and her brothers Donald Maize and Charles Alvin Elliott.
Funeral Services will be held from the Chipman Funeral Home chapel on Saturday, October 6th, 2012 at 11am. Interment will follow at the Red Bank United Church Cemetery. A Tea in Shirley's honor will be held at the Chipman Funeral Home following the interment. Donations in Shirleys memory can be made to the Chipman Public Library or the Christian Life Center.
