David A. Babineau

BABINEAU, DAVID A. (1939 - 2012) - David A. Babineau, 73, of Moncton, passed away on Saturday October 6, 2012 at the Moncton Hospital. Born on January 5, 1939 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Blair and Ellen (Gifford) Babineau. David joined Confederation Life in 1960, a newcomer to the Life Insurance business. The company transferred him to many cities across Canada while he worked his way into management. He then joined Wawanesa Life and was again moved many times. He then became an Insurance Broker and signed up with a number of companies, to give his clientele the best possible insurance for their specific needs, offering Group - Life - Health - Disability - RRSP - RESP. He was determined to work to the age of 85. Just knowing that he was going out each day to meet a friend or client gave him a reason to keep going. David loved people and life itself. He was an avid hockey player in his younger years, right through to the Old Timers. He began downhill skiing late in life and thoroughly enjoyed that sport with his family. His desire was to live a full life and that, he did. He is survived by his wife, Cietta (née Cameron-Reese); three children: Michael (Daila) of Toronto, Loren Lewis (David) and Stevan Babineau of Moncton; five grandchildren: Kayleigh, Jeffrey, Jonathan, Sarah and Blair who were the joy of his life; three sisters: Rita Chase (James) of Moncton, Anne Amico (Louie) of Fitchburg, MA and Margaret West (Ron) of Waltham, MA; two aunts: Eva and Mary Babineau; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, James (Jeanne) Babineau of North Bay, ON.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be celebrated at Frenette Funeral Center on Wednesday October 10, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Frenette Columbarium. In memory of David, a contribution to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital, specifically Oncology or Palliative, would be appreciated by the family.
