LARGE, MARIA ANNA - It is with profound sadness that the family of Maria Anna (Papp-Simon) Large announce her passing in Saint John on October 8, 2012, following her courageous battle with cancer. Maria was born in Debrecen, Hungary on August 28, 1955 and immigrated to Canada in 1963. Maria leaves behind; her beloved husband and soul mate of over 30 years, Danny Large; her beloved Mother and friend Eszter Papp-Simon; her beloved little sister Ester Deans and husband Craig, niece Lauren and nephew Brandon; her sunshine, step daughter Cynthia Hood, husband Chris, granddaughter Meridith, and her 1st grandson Matthew; her precious beloved stepson Stuart Large, and wife Shannon, granddaughter Alyssa, grandsons Brody and Tyler. She will be greatly missed by her shadow and beloved kitty SEMO. She will be sadly missed by her mother in-law Audrey Large; sister in-law Gloria Clark (special friend and angel) and husband Charlie; Sisters in-law and friends, Connie Hanson (Ronnie), Donna Thompson (Perry), niece Heather and nephew David; and sister in-law Lana Burrell and niece Leisa. She will also be missed by special friends Doreen, Judie, Shelley, Heidi, Brian, Art, and Kevin and the many friends she made during her 20 years of employment with Canada Revenue Agency. Maria was predeceased by her nephew Bradley Deans; her father Miklos Papp-Simon (Nick Simon), and her father-in-law Ernie Large. Maria gained joy from being outdoors, reading a good book, puttering in her flower garden, doing crosswords and Sudoku, but most of all spending time at home and with family and friends.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, (646-2424) with visitation on Wednesday, October 10th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 11th at 11 a.m. followed by an interment at Fernhill Cemetery.
