VACON, Harvey Joseph – 74, Quinan, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully on Friday, October 5, 2012 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born March 19, 1938 in Quinan, he was a son of the late Alvinie and Annie (Muise) Vacon. Harvey was a special soul who will be remembered as a man who was always willing to help anyone who needed it, both in his community and beyond. He was a good friend to all, and he was always concerned more about others than himself. Surviving are brothers, Donald and Victor, both of Quinan; Paul, Yarmouth; sisters, Eunice Vacon, Quinan; Nina (Rudolph) Muise, Tusket; Genevieve (Freddie) Doucette, Mayflower; Beatrice Doucette, Isabelle (Chester) Doucette, Theresa (Douglas) Muise, all of Quinan; Vitaline “Vicky” Dugas, Yarmouth; Angele Pothier, Meteghan; Annie (Gerald) Doucette, Beaver River; Peggy MacDonald, Sandford, as well as many nieces and nephews. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Larry, in infancy; Victor, Alvinie and Larry. Visitation took place from 7-9 Sunday evening, with prayers at 8 p.m., both at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. The funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 8 at Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth, Father Albenie d’Entremont officiated. Interment followed in St. Agnes Parish Cemetery, Quinan. Memorial donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Lung Association or to St. Agnes Parish Cemetery Fund.
