Harriet Anne Faulkner (Archibald)

Harriet Anne (Archibald) Faulkner, of Truro, passed away on October 12. Born in Beaverbrook, NS, on October 21, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Charles William Archibald and Mary (Liney) (Clarke) Archibald. Harriet was a graduate of Colchester Academy . She attended the Normal College and taught in Princeport and in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan before settling down to raise her family. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church where she was active in the Catholic Women’s League as well as many other church activities.

She is survived by husband Gordon Faulkner, children Ruth, Chris (Terryl), Paul (Lynn), Cathy (Joe Pinto), Alan (Saida), Jane (Joel) Henderson, Sandy, and Irene (Paul) VanZeumeran, sisters Rhoda and Myrtle Rushton, Leslie Lloyd, grandchildren Jason, Janet, Colin, Joel, Laura, Erin, George, Michael, Brett, Craig, Ian, Ross, James, Steven, Daniel, Amira, Nicholas, Hannah, Eric, step-grandchildren Jennifer and Jonathan, great-grandchildren William and Jillian, Jack, Matthew and Brianna, Max, and Austin. Harriet was devoted to her Christian belief and to her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and will be sadly. The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Graham and the staff at Williams’ Country Home.

Visitation will take place on Monday evening from 7-9 in the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro with a celebration of Harriet’s life at 8pm. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday at 2 pm in the Immaculate Conception Church with Father Francesco Pirisi officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
