The death occurred suddenly at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Saturday, April 12, 2008, of Leta Mary DesRoches (nee Noonan) of Searletown, P.E.I., age 75 years. Leta was born in Searletown on May 3, 1932, to her late parents, Loman and Cecelia (nee Laughlin) Noonan. Beloved wife of Austin DesRoches, and loving mother of Cathy (Dan) Ross of Emerald; George (Judy) of St. Eleanors; Diana (Calvin) Coughlin of Summerside; Donna (Todd) Swim of St. Eleanors; and Lisa DesRoches and Brent DesRoches living at home. Also lovingly remembered by her three grandchildren, Susan, Amanda and Darcy; her very special aunt Emma Noonan of Summerside; and many nieces and nephews. Survived by her brothers and sisters, Helen (Ralph) DesRoches of Borden; Bernadette (Malcolm) McGregor of B.C.; George (Bertha) Murphy of Charlottetown; Reggie (Adele) Noonan of Bedeque; Benny (Rose-Marie) Noonan of Searletown; and Garnet (Coleen) Noonan of Searletown. Besides her parents, Leta was predeceased by her stepmother, Ida Noonan; her granddaughter, Codi-Lynn Coughlin; and her brother Leo Noonan. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, until Wednesday, April 16, then to St. Peter’s Church, Seven Mile Bay, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Leta’s memory to St. Peter’s Church Cemetery Fund, would be greatly appreciated.
