GEORGE D BANNISTER
Passed in: Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada
Passed on: October 16th, 2012
It's with profound sadness that I announce the sudden passing of my father, George D. Bannister. He passed away on October 16, 2012 at 80 years of age.
He is survived, by myself, his daughter Pam (Tim) of Calgary, his wife Joan, his sister Diana (Dennis) all of Cranbrook and his niece and nephews Darcy, Dara and Devin and their families. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends in Kamloops.
Dad was born in Cranbrook and spent his early years living in and around Kamloops, and Canal Flats. He spent many of his young years living in logging camps with his mother and father. After he married he and my mother moved to Canal Flats where he worked for many years in the logging industry, working many years for Crestbrook Forest Industries. In 1983 he moved to Kamloops and worked for Highland Valley Copper, until he retired. After his retirement he started on a new career, driving bus for Thompson Valley Charters. He enjoyed working with the staff at TVC and loved driving for the Rocky Mountaineer, where he met people from around the world.
As per his wishes no service will be held.
