It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick Cormier, age 81, of Cheticamp on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012 at the QEII in Halifax, N.S.
Born in Cheticamp, Patrick was the son of Padde and Mary Mae (Lapierre) Cormier. Patrick owned and operated the Evangeline Theatre for many years. He was also a well known carpenter and jack of all trades. He also later owned and operated Highland Trophy Supplies. After his retirement as maintenance from NDA School, he and his wife, Carol, travelled to Florida for many wonderful years. He also enjoyed doing many things such as playing his guitar and singing, doing leather work and working on his computer.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Carol, of Cheticamp; his daughter, Darleen (John) Deveau of Sydney; his sons, Robert (Bonnie) Cormier of Mississauga, Ont., Pat (Debbie) Cormier, of Hamilton, Ont.; grandson, Trevor Cormier, Flesherton, Ont. and his sister, Agnes (Johnny) Camus of Sydney. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Cecile (Roach) of Cheticamp.
Cremation has taken place. At his request, no service will be held.
