The family of the late Paddy Ryan would like to express our sincere gratitude and thankfulness to our wonderful family, friends and neighbours for the support, kindness and love shown to us during our recent loss. To all who came from near and far to visit him and comfort us while he was ill and after his passing we thank you. To everyone who brought food to our homes, sent expressions of sympathy, donations in his memory, phoned, sent emails, flowers, gave hugs and love we are truly grateful. We thank Dr. Bob O’Brien, for the years of care provided to him and during his brief but courageous battle. We are blessed to have you as a physician and friend. To the nurses of 3rd floor GBGH, Palliative care and to the VON nurses who were so kind and caring and helped us to keep him home surrounded by the people he loved and to have his final days with peace, comfort and dignity. To the members of the RMVFD words cannot express the support shown to us for the honour guard you gave to him during the visitation and funeral, those who were honorary pallbearers and who braved the heavy rain to stand guard at the fire hall as we passed by for a beautiful final tribute in his honour, we are truly grateful to you all. We thank everyone who attended the visitation and funeral to show respect to him and comfort us. Thanks to Fr. MacPhee for officiating Dad’s Christian farewell and words of strength during the funeral mass. To Wanda, Anne and Ronnie who read so beautifully at the service we thank you. To Sean, Christian, Jayden and Brieley (Poppy’s best buddies) who brought the offertory during the funeral mass. To the altar servers, the beautiful choir and the bereavement society of St. Joseph’s parish we thank you for your kindness. And finally, to Rita Tompkins and the staff of McGillivray funeral home for your professionalism and guidance and who made a very difficult time easier and more comforting. Everyone’s kindness will remain with us, never to be forgotten.
