It’s with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of our mother, companion and friend, Jean Marie Fraser on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, in Edmonton, Alta.
Born in Neil’s Harbour, Cape Breton, she was the daughter of the late John and Lillian Burton of Bay St. Lawrence, where she resided most of her life.
Jean dedicated years as a caregiver at Highland Manor and to her parents, loved gardening, baking, knitting, the ocean and spending time with her family. She took such pride in growing and care of her roses
She is surrived by her companion, Brian Boswall, Edmonton, Alta.; father of her children, Joey Fraser, Sugar Loaf; daughters, Deidre (Robert), Sugar Loaf, Monique, Edmonton; son, Bradley (Julie), Bay St. Lawrence; step-grandchildren, Rebecca (Tony), Johnathan and step-granddaughter, Madalynn Emma, all of Sydney Mines. Also surriving are her sisters, Bernice (Wayne) Tremblay, Port Hawkesbury, Teresa (Mike) Carey, British Columbia; brothers, Edward (Heather) Burton, Port Hawkesbury, Stewart (Cassie) Burton, Port Hawkesbury and Scott Burton, Bay St. Lawrence along with many neices and nephews.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at the Grey Nun’s Hospital, Unit 43 in Edmonton, Alta. for superior care and compassion during her stay
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be at the family home 3260 Bay St Lawrence Road on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will take place Friday, Nov. 2 at St Margaret’s of Scotland Parish, St. Margaret’s Village, 2 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the St. Margaret’s of Scotland Building Fund.
