Jeanette Hunter
It is with great sadness that the family of Jeanette E. Hunter age 73 of Amherst announce her passing on Monday, October 29, 2012 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS.
Born in Tidnish, she was a daughter of the late Joshua and Thelma (Mills) MacKay.
Jeanette was passionate about her family and friends and was happiest being at family gatherings. She had a strong faith in God and was a devoted member of the Amherst Wesleyan Church. She loved horses and enjoyed being part of most horse events and was often referred to as the “Horse Mom”.
She will be remembered for her love of shopping, camping and going out for meals with her friends and family.
Jeanette was a very caring person and always brought joy to others lives.
She will be sadly missed by her son Mike (Marsha) of Tidnish, daughters Cheryl (Richard) Magee of Calhoun, NB, Sandra (Barry) Guilderson of Amherst and Sherry Hunter (Stan Cormier) of Amherst, three grandchildren Michael, Terry and Ashton, two great grandchildren Maddison and Colton and many nieces and nephews.
Jeanette is also survived by four sisters Grace, Sheila, Carol and Bonnie and brother Keith.
We are comforted by the fact that Jeanette is now reunited with her beloved husband Jim who left us in 2010 after 52 years of marriage.
There will be no visitation at the request of the family.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Amherst Wesleyan Church with Rev. Raymond Fancy officiating.
Interment will take place in the Amherst Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Jeanette’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Amherst Wesleyan Church.
