MURPHY (Meldrum), Florence Marguerite - 84 (1928 - 2012), Berwick, Kings Co., passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 1, 2012, at Grand View Manor, Berwick, with her loving family by her side. Born in Aylesford, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Rosetta (Burgoyne) Meldrum. Florence enjoyed life to the fullest. She enjoyed all needle crafts, baking, making novelty cakes and doughnuts for family, and friends. Florence enjoyed camping with her late husband, sister, Violet and brother-in-law, Donnie. Cherished mother of children, Elaine Murphy, Berwick; Ann Carrigan, Dartmouth; Barry (Joann), Sackville; proud grandmother of Kevin, Tina (Harvey Hannem), Melissa (Chris Burns), Stephanie (Adrian) Arsenault, Lauren (Robb) Hall; great-grandmother of Shea, Christopher, Liam, Dominic, Emma and Jordyn; brothers, Cecil (Joyce), Sackville; Alvin, Dartmouth; Clayton, Harmony; sisters, Violet (Donnie) Gates, Aylesford; Jean Martin, Brantford, Ontario; several step-brothers and step-sisters in Ontario; sister-in-law, Betty Meldrum, Harmony; an aunt to many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Florence was predeceased by her loving husband, Clarence Reginald "Reg" Murphy; son-in-law, Ronald Carrigan; brother, Raymond Meldrum. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bryce Johnstone of DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service (902-538-8317). There was no visitation. Funeral service took place at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 5, in the Berwick United Church, 240 Commercial St., Berwick. Rev. Tom Woods officiated, with burial in the Berwick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Grand View Manor or to any charity. Florence’s family wishes to express many thanks to the staff at Grand View Manor for their compassionate care and friendship to their mother, to Janet McInnis her roommate who became a close friend and to Dr. Robin Bustin for all the special care he gave their mother over the years.
