BROWN, EUGENE "GENE" - Eugene "Gene" Marshall Brown, 87, of Kenneth E. Spencer Home, Moncton and formerly Grande-Digue and Petitcodiac, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2012. Born in Wheaton Settlement, he was the son of the late Theodore and Bessie (Carson) Brown. Gene retired after 37 years with Canada Cement Lafarge as maintenance supervisor and was a member of the Petitcodiac Baptist Church and had recently attended the Shediac Bay Community Church. He was a former trustee of the Petitcodiac Baptist Church and chairman of the building committee and was also past president of both the Petitcodiac Kiwanis Club and the Petitcodiac Golf and Country Club. He enjoyed bowling and woodworking, especially making furniture for his family and was an avid Moncton Wildcats fan. Survived and sadly missed by his children Douglas (Joanne) of Forest Glen, Diana Flanagan (Carl) of Moncton and Michael (Sharon) of Petitcodiac; cherished and beloved grandchildren Jason and Victoria, Shane and Katlyn and Saige and Caleb; close friend Edie Fawcett; sister-in-law Betty (Coates) Innes and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Mona (Coates) (2004) and sisters Muriel Wilson and Marjorie Wilson.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Friday, November 9, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held Saturday, November 10 at 2 p.m. at the Petitcodiac Baptist Church with Robert MacDonald officiating.
