It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jamie Martin, 51, of Glace Bay . Jamie passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, Jamie was the son of Ronald and Anne (Morrison) Martin.
Jamie was employed at Devco Central Shops and Prince Mine as a mechanical millwright. He also operated Marvelous Moo Ice Cream Shop. He was an avid sports fan. He loved music, especially, guitar and drums.
Jamie will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Kerrie (Rogers); son, Garrett; parents, Ronnie and Anne (Morrison) Martin; uncles, Leo (Gail) Martin, Fabe (Diane) Martin, Bill Martin, Paul (Liz) Martin; aunts, Cecilia Lynk, Kay Marchesin, Evelyn and Michael MacIntyre, Viola Morrison, Estelle Morrison, Betty Bowman, Karen Nolan; in-laws, Betty and Blair MacNeil, Donna and Darrel King, Lois and Robert Reid, Billie and Nancy Rogers, Bruce and Lorna Rogers, Robert Rogers, David Rogers, Richard Rogers; brothers-in-law, Urban Brown and Bernie Thomas. Also close friends, John MacDonald, Abby Michalik, Joe Gardiner and special relatives, Cheryl, Michele, Arlene, Bradley and many cousins.
Jamie was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, John and Elizabeth (Clements) Morrison, paternal grandparents, Billy and Margaret (Boone) Martin, in-laws, Rachael and Richard Rogers, uncles, Jerry Morrison, Delbert Morrison, Harry Martin, Bob Martin, aunts, Mell, Mary, Rita, Eileen, Debbie - Martin.
The family are honouring Jamie’s wishes. Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. There will be no visitation and a private family funeral service will be held at a later date.
