BECHAL: Gail Mildred Bechal, age 65 years of Mankota, SK, passed away November 14, 2012 at the Prairie View Health Centre, Mankota, SK. A Memorial Mass was celebrated on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 1:00 P.M., from St. Alberts Roman Catholic Church, with Father Juanito Vargas officiating. The organist was Joan Stengler and the eulogist was Larry Baragar. The ushers were Gabe Deringer and Gordon Kruger. An Honor Guard was formed by members of the C.W.L. and the Lions Club and the Urn Bearer was Brian Highsaw. Gail is survived by her husband Sylvester Bechal; daughters: Tammy Cyr and her children: Kelsey, Nikki and Tyson, and Candice (Brian) Mortensen and their children: Rylee, Tanya, Shannon, Landon and Leeland. a brother Larry (Wendy) Baragar and a sisters-in-law Mary Stergler, Gloria Sawchuck and Joyce (Dennis) Sawchuck: numerous nieces, nephews and special friends Beau, Kyle and Jane Switzer. Gail was predeceased by her parents: Albert and Jean Baragar; siblings: Betty and Vic Barager, mother-in-law Margaret Bechal and father-in-law Tony Bechal. Gail was born January 29, 1947 in Ponteix, SK. She attended school at Reliance, Mankota and Kincaid. She was united in marriage to Sylvester Bechal, August 20, 1965 in St. Albert Roman Catholic Church, Mankota, SK. She was employed at numerous office jobs: Corral cleaning, babysitting and Prairie View Health Centre as an Activities Co-ordinator. She was active in the Lions Ladies, Tops and the Catholic Women's League. Her special interest were music, riding, visiting, games and reading. She was a beautiful and very musical lady and would often bring out the accordion or play the piano at family gatherings. Gail loved horse back riding and playing games of any kind, and played often with the grandchildren. She was a great cook and had a very compassionate heart for the elderly and loved bringing joy to their lives by going to entertain them. God is good. He loved her more that we ever could, and He just wanted her to come home. (Rylee- granddaughter) Memorial donations to the Mankota Ladies Auxilary would be appreciated by the family.
