GALLANT, ELIZABETH “BETTY” - Elizabeth "Betty" Gallant, 87, of Moncton, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at ProTem Health Centre where she resided. Born on September 13, 1925 in St. John’s, NL, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Maude (Hickey) Murphy. Betty was a long time volunteer at St. Pat’s Family Centre and a member of the St. Pat’s Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by three daughters: Wendy Murray (John) and Donna Roy (Daniel), both of Moncton and Cindy Berg (David) of London, ON; three sons: Glenn (France) of Dieppe, Greg (Jean) of Thompson, MB, and Gary (Elizabeth) of Cap-Pelé; 10 grandchildren: Mathieu, Lucille, Gilles, Kristal (Martin), Fane, Justus (Jenica), Cleo, TJ, Samantha and Tiffany, as well as three great-grandchildren: Jonah, Jayna and Ayah. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband, Edgar (2010).
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until time of departure (10:50). The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard’s R.C. Church, 43 Botsford St., Moncton, on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
