GAUVIN, EUGÈNE A. - 1951 - 2012 - Eugène Alyre Gauvin (aka Peanut), 61, of Moncton, passed away on November 20, 2012. He was born on November 12, 1951 to Alyre Gauvin and Evangéline (Duplessis). He was married to Jeanne (Bernard) on November 18, 1972. In his early life, Eugène was known for his abilities in the boxing ring and has been a fixture at Baraly’s Boxing Academy for many years, imparting his wisdom and gaining the respect of up-and-coming boxers. He was also an avid Wildcats Fan. Most of all, he was a devoted husband, caring father and a very fun Pépère. Eugène is survived by Jeanne, his loving wife of 40 years; his children Wayne Gauvin (Kristi), Joceline Follet (David) and Suzelle Gauvin; grandchildren Jérémie, Hannah and Emily; brothers Charles (Denise), Gilles (Bonnie); sisters Dorice Ross (David), Diane Parker (Darrel), Bernice Melanson (Robert) and Jeannette Dupuis (Tony Boucher).
Visitation will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Friday, November 23, 2012 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral service on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home at 10:00 am. Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
