DOUGLAS, BESSIE - The death of Bessie Vivian Marguerite Douglas, loving wife of the late Alfred Douglas, occurred on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1927 in Fredericton, she was the daughter of the late William and Victoria (Burns) Lynch. Bessie worked for several years at the House of Chan Packaging Plant. She enjoyed watching wrestling and NASCAR and scratching her bingo tickets. She is survived by her sons Alfred (Adora) Douglas and Mark (Holly) Douglas both of Saint John, Harold Douglas of Calgary, AB; daughters Diane Nicholas of Edmonton, AB and Pamela Patten of Saint John; step-sons Raymond “Blake” Douglas and Hazen (Bella) Douglas both of Saint John; sister Barbara McEwen of Brampton, ON; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a step-daughter Betty Douglas, a brother Arthur Lynch and sister Doris Firmin.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road Saint John (646-2424) with visitation on Monday, November 26, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
