The family of Albert “Al” Crocker announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the age of 79 years. We celebrate his life with family and friends. He leaves his love and wonderful memories to be cherished by his son Neil and grandson Jacob of Brampton, Ontario; daughter-in-law Zana and granddaughter Hannah of Meadows. A very special friend for the past sixteen years Shirley Keats from Summerside. Sisters and brothers: Olive (Aubrey - deceased) McAuley, Mona (Bert - deceased) McLean, Claren (Hughie) Brake, Ilene (Laurence - deceased) Wight; Job (Clara), Woodrow (Pansy), Mary (Tom - deceased) Basha; Inez (John) Kelly; Jean (Alvin) Crocker, a large number of nieces, nephews and friends. He is predeceased by wife Amelia Romaine on May 14, 1993; son Richard on October 10, 2012; parents Walter and Ethel Crocker; parents-in-law Clyde and Irene Brake. We celebrate his life as he served his country, as a peace keeper in Germany, 1956-1959, Queen’s own rifle of Canada, was employed with Dept of Highway in Glenburnie, Bonne Bay. He was also member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 45, Woody Point, Bonne Bay. Visitation was held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Mark Avenue, Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, November 26 at 2:00 P.M. from Fillatre's Funeral Chapel, St. Mark's Avenue with Rev. Canon John Meade officiating. Cremation to follow at Humber Valley Crematorium. As expressions of sympathy donations can be made to St. Simon St. Jude Anglican Church in Trout River. No flowers by request. A special thank you to Dr. VanWijk and nurses of 3A Medicine at Western Memorial Regional Hospital and also H.S.C. of 5 South A in St. John’s. A very special thank you to all of our family and friends for the visits, phone calls, food, donations and anyone who offered their support to us during these past few weeks.
