Rushton, Maxine Fern - 81, Truro, passed away Monday November 26, 2012 in the Mira Long Term Care Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Rita (Totten) Roode.
She is survived by a daughter Faye Burris (Darrell) of Truro; grandchildren, Ryker (Angelle), Alannah, Jewel; brothers Floyd Roode (Karen) of Truro, Jimmy Roode (Shirley) of Belmont, Ray Roode (Linda) of Truro; sisters Geraldine Caverly of Truro, Faye Roode of Truro.
Besides her parents, Maxine was predeceased by her husband Dawson Nathaniel Rushton; son Frederick; sister Shirley Lindsay and a sister in infancy.
Visitation will take place Thursday from 7-9 and funeral service 1 pm Friday both in the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro. Rev. Brian DeLong will officiate with burial to follow in the Belmont Cemetery, Belmont. Donations in Maxine’s memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Fund.
