White, Earl B. “Tuffy” – 1919 – 2012

On Friday, November 30, 2012, Earl Burton White, 93, passed away at Camp Hill Hospital, Halifax. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Donald and Lillian (McClintock) White. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Ethel Cox; an infant daughter; a son, Dr. Lloyd A. White; brothers, Fred, Lloyd, Roland; sister, Pearl Sayer. He is survived by sons, Philip (Darline), Whitehorse, Lee (Dawnelda), Old Barns, William, Ottawa; sister, Majorie Fraser (Ian), Stittsville, Ontario; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Earl was a musician. He played drums his entire life in groups including the CNRA Orchestra and the Country Casuals. His gatherings of musical friends were greatly anticipated and appreciated events at Parkland Estates in Truro and Camp Hill. His good friends and “fifth son” Chalmers Doane brought him great joy. His interests varied from boating to travel. Earl was known for many manual talents. The family would like to extend our great thanks to the staff and residents at Camp Hill, Halifax and Parkland Estates, Truro, who made Tuffy’s life fuller. Cremation has taken place.
