Fidele John Arsenault

The death occurred peacefully at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, on Sunday, May 4, 2008, of Fidele John Arsenault of Summerside, age 93 years. Veteran of Second World War. Fidele was born on June 3, 1914, in Egmont Bay, P.E.I., to his late parents, Azade and Lionide (nee LeBlanc) Arsenault. Beloved husband of 66 years to Catherine (nee Martin) Arsenault, and loving father of David (Sandra), Jimmy (Norma) and Alvin (Eleanor), all of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by his six grandchildren Randy, Ann, Susan, Toby, Candace and Ryan; his 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. As the last surviving member of his family, Fidele was predeceased by his brothers, Albert, Alyre, Cyril, Edmond and Toussaint and his sisters, Florence, Dora, Domithilde and Evelyn. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, until Thursday, then to St. Paul’s Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Visiting hours on Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Comrades of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #5, Summerside, will hold a service of remembrance at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 6:45 p.m. Memorial donations in Fidele’s memory, to the Summerset Manor Equipment Fund would be greatly appreciated.
