Robert “Bob” C. Dixon, 69, of Moncton, with his loving wife by his side, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday December 6, 2012. Born in Pointe de Bute, he was the son of the late Carmen F. and Marion Wells (Trueman) Dixon.
Bob was a graduate of RCS, Rothesay, NB and a graduate of Mount Allison University. After graduation, Bob became a stockbroker for eight years, then had a career in life insurance and financial planning until retirement in 2008. He was also a former member of the Amherst and Sackville Chambers of Commerce and Advocis (Financial Advisors Association of Canada). Bob attended Mountain View United Church and was a member of the Outreach Committee.
Bob will be sadly missed by his wife of over 18 years, Judy (Jeffrey) Dixon; his children, Tim Dixon of Halifax, Amy Dixon of Waterloo, ON, Malcolm Dixon of Dieppe and Kathleen Dixon (Nick) of Moncton; grandchildren, Isaiah, Zebadiah and Uriah Hartung of Waterloo, ON; he was also a special grampy to Danie Martin; two brothers, David Dixon (Ann) of Sackville and Lea Dixon (Margaret) of Vancouver, BC; and several nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Fred Dixon and sister-in-law, Linda (MacKay) Dixon.
In honoring Bob’s wishes, there will be no visitation hours. A Celebration of Life Service for Bob will be held at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Monday December 10, 2012 at 1:30 pm, with Rev. Mary MacPherson officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment will be held at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
