The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, December 7, 2012 of Arthur "Buddy" Pineau, of North Rustico, age 91.
Buddy was the beloved husband of Freda Marie (nee Gallant); father of Leroy Pineau and Donna Ward (Richard); stepfather of Edwin (Rose Marie, Ann (Remi), Della (Claude), Carol (Donald), Gary (Carolyn), Brian (Anne Marie), Valerie (John), Kevin (Wendy) and Len (Brent); grandfather of 25 and great-grandfather of 18.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Marge; an infant daughter, Sally Jude; two sisters, Veronica and Leah; and his parents, Jack and Angelina (Buote) Pineau.
Buddy was a North Nova Scotia Highlander, a veteran of the Second World War and a D-Day survivor.
Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Sunday, December 9, 2012, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service at the funeral home Sunday at 6:45 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, North Rustico on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Stella Maris Cemetery.
