Burton Nice
NICE, BURTON ELLIS - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Burton Ellis “Booty” Nice which occurred unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, December 9, 2012 after a brief illness. Born 1929 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Albert and Margaret (Macauley) Nice. Burton took his carpentry training at the Moncton Technical School and worked at the trade all his life. He was a member of Local 1039 and a member of Carleton Kirk United Church and The Boys Breakfast Club at Deluxe. Burton is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Gloria (Armstrong) Nice; daughter Adriane Nice (husband Peter Hoyle) of Mississauga, ON; brother Norman (Maude) of Saint John; sister-in-law Doris Nice (late Firth) of Grandbay-Westfield; good friends, Genny and Herb Tozer, Gordon Reid and Diane Garland. Besides his parents, Burton was predeceased by five brothers and four sisters.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Following cremation a Memorial Service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, March 31, 2013 at 2:00 pm, on the occasion of his 57th wedding anniversary, as per Burton’s wishes.
