Dorothy MacKenzie, 89, Glen Haven  Manor, formerly of New Glasgow, born in Roachvale, Guysborough Co., passed away in patient care on Dec. 17, 2012.
She was a retired school teacher, teaching in different parts of Pictou County. She played the organ in church and loved to be there. She also loved her friends that dropped by for a visit.
Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Brian (Lois), Peterborough, Ontario and Tory (Elaine), New Glasgow. As well she had many grandchildren and a great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. Also she is survived by a brother Douglas Slater; sisters Ruby and Erna.
She was predeceased by husband Alexander; sisters, Kathleen (infant); Rose and Ena.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 Friday, Dec. 21 at the Untied Baptist Church in Guysborough, NS with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Palative Care Unit at the Aberdeen Hospital or a charity of one choice.
