GREENHILL – John Robert “Hippie” Firth, 63, of MacLean Road, Greenhill, died December 18, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Pictou, he was a son of the late Gordon and Mildred (Haley) Firth.
Bob was self employed for many years with motorcycles, small engine repairs, as well as home renovations. A lover of nature and animals, he made comfortable homes for many stray cats and dogs, and all were treated equal.
He was predeceased by his sister, Thelma (Johnson) and brother, Neil Firth.
Surviving are brother, Gordon Firth and many nieces and nephews.
A public graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in Haliburton Cemetery with Rev. Christine Johnson officiating.
Donations in his memory may be made to the S.P.C.A.
