RIVERTON – B. Melrose Chisholm, 79 of the Valley View Villa, Riverton, formerly of Stellarton, passed away December 19, 2012 in the Villa.
Born in Bathurst, NB, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Irene (Doucette) Newington.
Melrose was a resident of the Valley View Villa for the past two years.
She is survived by daughters: Barb Hollis, Trenton, NS; Nancy Andrew (Junior Metcalf), Glace Bay; Harriet (Fraser) Agnew, New Glasgow; Elaine Chisholm, Toronto; a son Jamie Chisholm, Toronto; grandchildren: Samantha Williams, Rachel and Michael Munroe, a great-granddaughter Morgan Williams, a sister Pearl MacDonald, Lyon’s Brook; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband Harry Andrew, brothers John and Stewart, a sister Frances, a granddaughter Shae Chasity, sons-in-law: Jim Munroe, Jack Hollis and Thomas MacDonald.
Her remains will rest in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton, for visiting from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday from Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Donations in memory of Melrose may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association or Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton.
