Born October 12, 1933, loving husband of Doris (Lariviere), passed away suddenly on December 16, 2012. Survived by his wife and daughters: Carol Rochefort (Guy), Nancy Mandaglio (Frank), Brenda Milne (Reid). Also survived by his most loving grandchildren: Justin (Katie), Robert, Megan (Paul), Jennifer and Maria, (predeceased by grandson Jeffrey Mandaglio). Lorne was born and raised on Bell Island, Newfoundland Labrador. He was predeceased by parents Robert and Susanna Martin and brother Robert. Survived by his sisters: Yvonne Bailey (Paul) and Rosamond Miller (Jim); sisters-in-law: Jeannette Dominico (Rudy) and Rochelle Brown (Stan). Lorne was proud to be a Newfie and loved all the jokes. Lorne was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force and was later employed by Dupont Explosives. Lorne loved to hunt with his grandsons. Never missed a soccer or baseball game or his grandchildren’s concerts. He loved his family with all his heart and soul and never stopped worrying about them. He will be greatly missed by his family. We love you Dad! Lorne was a life long member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the 406 Wing. A memorial service was held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 23 on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 3 p.m. in memory of Lorne Martin. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
