Napanee, Ontario - Frederick ‘Dennis’ MacKay, entered into rest peacefully on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at the John M. Parrott Centre, Napanee in his 79th year. Born in Springville, Pictou County, he was a son of the late William R. McKay and Kathleen Moss. He was the beloved husband of Joan Sams; loving father of: Lydia MacKay (Ray); Alberta MacKay (John). He will be fondly remembered by his granddaughter Tara Nugent and grandsons Sam and Ian Lees. He was the dear brother of Ernest; Myrtle Kelly (Ron); Joan Fraser (David); he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings: William Carr Dick, Ruth Woodworth, Richard and Shirley McKay. The family will receive friends at the Paul G. Payne Funeral Home, Main St., Odessa, 613-386-7373, on Friday, December 28 from 7-9 pm and Saturday from 10-11am with the service to follow in the funeral home at 11am with Rev. E. Kellogg officiating. Private family interment at a later date in Bath United Church Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy the family would appreciate donations to either the L and A Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
