BERNARD, ANIDA MARIE - Anida Marie Bernard, loving wife of Raymond Bernard passed away December 23, 2012 at the Loch Lomond Village. She was the daughter of the late Raguel and Vitaline (Benoit) Richard. Born on June 8, 1928 in Tracadie-Sheila, NB, her family and her strong faith were her life. Her passion for her Catholic faith brought her to attend and facilitate the Prayer Meetings at the CYO for many years. She always loved music and dance, specifically Daniel O’Donell which provided countless hours of pleasure. Anida and Raymond were regular parishioners their whole lives and were highly active at St. Joachim’s Church for many years. Anida is survived by children, Georgette (Paul) Thom of Saint John, Verna (Dave) Bernard and Reg (Nancy) Bernard, all of Saint John, Carole (Jim) Bradford of Smithtown, NB and Lisa (Geoff) Bernard of Montreal; brother, Leo Richard of Tracadie-Sheila; granddaughters, Sheri (Vick) and Ashley; grandsons, Jared, Andrew, Daniel, Ben, Joel and Dylan; and great-granddaughter, Lauryn. Anida treasured all of her grandchildren with all of her heart. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved son, Ron; sisters, Eliza and Ezelda; and brother, Alfred.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Thursday, December 27 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Joachim’s Catholic Church, 603 Loch Lomond Road at 12:00 noon on Friday, December 28, 2012. Interment to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations in Anida’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, Animal Rescue League or a charity of the donor’s choice.
