MARIA Di Giacomo:
On December 23 , 2012, Maria Di Giacomo passed away at home with her loving family at her side with her son Paolo holding her hand.
Maria was born in Celano, Aquila, Italy to Domenico Antonio and Antonietta Di Renzo on May 17, 1925. She grew up with a large family.
Her son Giuseppe predeceased her in 1999, her husband Giulio in 2002. Maria was also predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Qiuntina, Annunziata, Antonio, Pasqualino and Angelo.
She is survived by her sons Paolo and Domenico and grandson Giulio. She also leaves to cherish her memory her brothers Filippe and Riziere and sister Costanzina. Maria is lovingly remembered by her husband’s family in Villa Alfonzina Chieti, Italy.
Maria loved gardening, baking and cooking. She was a gentle soul who welcomed all to her home for a cup of coffee or a meal. She was a giving and loving person to all. Her love for her family surpassed all interests outside the home. We will all have special memories to cherish.
The family would like to thank Dr. Phil Sigalet for the tender care he gave her over the years, especially the last few months. Thank you also to the nurses and care-givers who helped the family so much. God bless you.
Prayers will be recited in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Thursday, December 27th at 7:00 p.m. The Reverend Father Peter H. Nguyen will celebrate the Funeral Mass in the Church on Friday, December 28th at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Mausoleum, Hillside Cemetery.
