McCULLY, IONA - Iona May McCully, 53, of Petitcodiac, passed away at the Moncton Hospital Friday, December 28, 2012 with her daughter at her side. Born in Sussex, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Nellie (Read) Brown. Iona worked at Cement Cartage, in accounting, for thirty-three years. She was a dedicated volunteer for the Canadian Cancer Society, a member of the Petitcodiac Golf and Country Club and was an avid golfer. Iona graduated from the Petitcodiac Regional High School. She will be missed by her beloved husband of thirty-five years Mike; children Christopher (Stephanie) of Riverview and Michelle of Cardiff, UK; cherished granddaughter Katie; sisters Bonnie Rae Macaulay (Wayne), Burma Limoges (Mike), Margaret Mann (Gordie) and Joan Adair (Brian); brothers John Brown (Darlene) and Michael Brown (Connie) and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a private family service, officiated by Rev. Chris Hayes, at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800). The family will receive relatives and friends Monday, December 31 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Maplewood Cemetery at a later date. If desired, in memory of Iona, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
