GERRISH, DORIS - Doris Julia Gerrish of Sisson Brook passed away unexpectedly at her home on December 28, 2012. Born in Plaster Rock, NB, on July 3, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy (Lovelock) Knox and wife of the late G. Donald Gerrish. She is survived by her daughter Patrice Gerrish of Sisson Brook; sons D. James Gerrish (Carolyn) of Sussex, T. Allison Gerrish (Karen) of Sussex; sister Betty Daye of Long Reach, Kingston Peninsula; three grandchildren Blake, Lindsey, and Meghan Gerrish; great granddaughters Katrina and Michaella and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she is predeceased by her brother Howard Knox. Doris was a partner with her husband at Don's Hardware in Plaster Rock for 25 years. She had great talent for all the forms of needlework and enjoyed her Wednesdays with her quilting group.
A funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 2 pm. Rev. Fran Bedell officiating. Interment will take place in the Plaster Rock Community Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, memorial donations to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock, NB.
