THORBURN – It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Corrine Marie Forsyth of Marsh Rd., Thorburn, who passed away on December 31, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born September 29th, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Gouthro.
Corrine was born and raised in New Victoria, Cape Breton.
She married the love of her life on July 20th, 1974. She worked at home happily raising her three children.
Surviving are her best friend and husband of 38 years Thomas Forsyth, son Thomas Jr. (Evelyn) of MacLellan’s Brook, daughter Tammy Sartoris (Johnny) of Thorburn, son Shaun (Jacy) of Thorburn; grandchildren: Ashley, Samantha, Travis, Devan, Rylee; a great-grandson Cole; many nieces and nephews; sisters Patsy MacNeil (Hector) and Agnes MacEachern.
Corrine was predeceased by her parents Frank and Mary Gouthro, sister Millie and brothers: Freeman, Francis, Billy and Leo.
Her remains will rest in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home for visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday. Cremation to follow. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. from the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with Father Colin MacKinnon officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
Donations in memory of Corrine may be made to the VON Pictou County or to the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital.
