The death occurred at Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, N.B., on Saturday, May 17, 2008, of Marylea Helen MacDonald, aged 54 years; beloved daughter of Norman and Ruth (Wright) MacDonald of Crapaud. Loving mother of Saya Gahungu of Winnipeg, Man., and devoted partner of Leighton (Tony) Steele of Fredericton, N.B. Sister of Jim MacDonald (Lucie Anne Ingoldsby) of Waverley, N.S.; Liz (Ron) Maynard of Port Hill, P.E.I.; Frank (Sandra) MacDonald of Crapaud, P.E.I. and Holly MacDonald (Keith Van Walraven) of Ottawa, Ont. Aunt to Laura, Maryella and Hannah Maynard; Amanda, Spencer and Alex MacDonald; and Casey and Naomi Van Walraven. Niece of Jean Myers, Margaret Watts, Mary Bradshaw, Charles Wright and George Wright. Fondly remembered by Vital Gahungu, father of Saya. Predeceased by her nephew, Angus Van Walraven and aunt Annalea Weeks. Resting at Dawson Funeral Home, Crapaud. Visitation to be held on Tuesday, May 20, from 2–4 p.m. and 7–9 p.m. Funeral service on Wednesday, May 21, at South Shore United Church, Route 10, in Tryon at 3 p.m. Private interment to be held at a later time at Crapaud People’s Cemetery.
