It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving brother. Daniel ‘Syl’ McDougall age 64 of Reserve Street, Glace Bay, passed away at his residence on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013.
Born in Glace Bay, Syl was the son of the late Daniel and Angela (MacPherson) McDougall. Syl was an insulator by trade working at various job sites and a member of Local 116. Syl enjoyed sitting and talking to his many friends at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 3, Glace Bay.
Syl will be sadly missed by his siblings, Blaine McDougall, Vancouver, Bernadine McDougall (Robert Smith), Reserve Mines, Cynthia McDougall (Ron Morrison), Bridgeport, Raylene McDougall (Rene Landry), New Brunswick. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law, Debbie Chan and Donna MacEllistrum, both of Ontario.
Besides his parents, Syl was predeceased by his brother, Jerry.
Syl's family are honouring his wishes. There will be no visitation. Cremation will take place under the care and guidance of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, in the funeral home chapel with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's/Holy Family Cemetery.
