William Joseph (Bill) Chowan

(1931-2008) Peacefully at his residence and surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 20, 2008, in his 77th year. Much loved husband of Diane (nee Langlois) of 37 years and former husband of the late Helen (nee Singleton). Loving father of William of B.C.; Don (Mary) of Shingletown; Randall (Mei Ling) of B.C.; Wendy (Warren) of Baden; Kim (Jerry) of Kitchener; Duane (Cheri) of Waterloo, and Chad (Tara) of Cambridge. He will be remembered by his 19 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and by his many nieces and nephews. Bill will also be sadly missed by his brothers, Arthur (Barb), Frederick (Joyce), Vernon (Emily), James (Linda), and sister-in-law, Rose. He will be dearly missed by sisters-in-law, Carol (Bob), Betty (Peter) and brothers-in-law, Ivan (Debbie), John (Gwen), Bernard (Kim) and Paul (Patricia). Predeceased by his parents, William and Catherine Chowan of P.E.I.; his brothers, John and Joe; and sister, Ann. Bill spent his retirement enjoying travelling and golfing after 25 years of service at J.M. Schneider’s. He will also be dearly missed by all his friends at Grand River Raceway. Friends are invited to share their memories of William with his family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Thursday, May 22, 2008, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where parish prayers will be held at 8:45 p.m. The mass of Christian burial in celebration of William’s life will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, 173 Lourdes Street West, Waterloo, on Friday, May 23, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Edward Sheridan as celebrant. Interment will follow in Parkview Cemetery.
