PETERSON, Archibald Austin, 78, Lockeport, passed away peacefully in Roseway Hospital, Shelburne, on Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Born in Lockeport he was a son of the late Archibald and Vivian Doris (Enslow) Peterson. Arch worked at National Sea for 38 years retiring as Plant Manager. In his early years he was a member of the Canadian Seafood Workers Union, a member of the Liverpool Trades and Labour Union and served on the Shelburne Municipal School Board. He believed in supporting his community and was a member of the Kiwanis Club, member of the Board of Directors for the building of the NSCC, Board member of the Lockeport Beach Centre, a member of Taylor Lodge, Masonic Order, Lockeport, and member of the Lockeport Cemetery Committee. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughter, Kimberley; sons, Dale (Colleen), Mark; step-sons, Shawn and Christopher; brothers, David (Gladys), Kenneth (Kay), James (Marilyn), Kevin (Janet); sister, Sharon (Philip); nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Eunice (Dedrick) Peterson. A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 12 in the Lockeport United Baptist Church with Pastor Kevin Grant officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Lockeport First Responders, Lockeport Cemetery Fund or charity of choice. Interment in Lockeport Cemetery.
