It is with profound sadness that the family of the late Lawrence Gallant announce his peaceful passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on Saturday, January 12th 2013 at the age of 80 years after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Marina (Bob) Delaney of Stephenville, three sons; Don (Mabel) of St. John's, Jerry (Karen) of Bridgewater NS, and Wayne (Dianne) of Fredericton NB, six grandchildren; Geoffrey (Christina), Deidre (Steven), Gregory, Holly, Timmy and Jacob, three great grandchildren; Sadie, Allister, and Molly, and his two devoted caregivers Brendan and Reg and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was pre-deceased by two great grandchildren Gavin and Donovan, his parents William and Laura, four brothers; Walter, William, Martin, Clarence and five sisters; Elizabeth, Geneta, Rita, Laetitia, and Bertha. Friends may call at Russell's funeral home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive Stephenville on Monday January 14th from 2-4 and, 7- 9pm. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday January 15th at 10 am at St. Stephen's parish, West Street, Stephenville, with interment in the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Newfoundland and Labrador would be greatly appreciated.
