Nursing Home, Trenton and formerly of Birch Street, New Glasgow, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Ivey’s Terrace Nursing Home.
Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Elmer and Louise (Jamieson) Lank.
Ron lived most of life in New Glasgow. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces serving overseas for five years. During his working life he was employed with Warren Maritimes from where he retired due to ill health. His hobby was building remote controlled boats and planes then sharing them with his family. The greatest joy of Ron’s life was his family and cherished the time spent with them.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years the former Sondra (MacDonald); children: Karen MacLeod, New Glasgow; Anne MacGregor, New Glasgow; Susan Lank, Trenton; Ronnie (Valerie) Lank, New Glasgow; David (Michelle) Lank, St. Catherine’s, Ont.; Michael (Susan) Lank, MacPherson’s Mills; grandchildren: Graham (Kristy), Ashley (Wade), Ryan, Daniel (Emma), David (Alicia), Nicole (Andrew), Alexander, Riley, Kristen, Brendan, Jesse and Ally; brothers, Jack (Grace) Lank, BC; David (Anne) Lank, Little Harbour.
Predeceased by sisters, Shirley and Sandra; brothers: William, Robert and James.
In keeping with Ron’s wishes there will be no service.
The family invites relatives and friends to the family home at 545 Birch Street, New Glasgow on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. to celebrate Ron’s life.
Donations in memory of Ron may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Fund or to the Nova Scotia Alzheimer Society.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the H.W. Angus Funeral Home.
