The starman spirit that became Jarrett Mason Pate, gifted to Lee Mason and Keith Pate at the height of summer on July 24, 1990, in Sechelt, carried light and sunshine to everyone in his life. Jarrett grew up as a sweet, happy boy on the Sunshine Coast and in England and became a beautiful and caring young man. Jarrett was always smiling and was never afraid to show his love for his friends and family. He was someone his friends could always count on. He was hard working and eager, with a thirst for knowledge.  
Whilst balancing his strength over his own self, he was gracious and respectful in caring for the feelings of his grandparents and elders. He was especially close to his mother, Lee, who was also one of his best friends. 
Jarrett was enrolled and excelling in BCIT’s millwright program and was looking forward to the next phase of his life, when he unintentionally and misguidedly put himself to sleep … permanently.
We are grateful for the time we had with him.
Sharing in the guiding of his spirit were grandparents Dorothy and Stanley Mason, Dave and Sue Roberts and Grandpa Neil Pate; mentors Gordon Webber and Jeff Doran; numerous aunties, uncles and cousins; and a huge circle of family and friends.
Jarrett was returned to the earth on Sunday, January 13, 2013.
