Shirley Washbrook
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley Washbrook at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on Jan. 16 2013.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Hazel MacKenzie.
Shirley was known for her knitting, baking and love for her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband, Francis; children, Francine Washbrook (John), Josephine (Richard) Slaunwhite, David Washbrook (Monique), April Bond (Bud Henick); her grandchildren, Jay, Cindy, Arthur, Kevin, Shirley, Monica, Monique, and Collette.
She is also survived by her siblings, David, Wayne, Dorothy, Darlene, and Phyllis, and by her special friend Alan MacPherson
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service. A private committal service will be held at Hardwood Hill Cemetery, for family and close friends at a later date.
A special thank you to Dr. Wong, Dr. Zwicker and the ER staff, and the ICU staff who cared for our mother. Especially nurse, Leslie, and a special nursing student who went out of his way to care for mom.
